EXTREME VR Science Fair Logo Contest

Purpose of contest

To design a new official logo for the EXTREME VR Science Fair.

Eligibility

Any 7th-12th grade student from a school/group in Northern Ontario.

Requirements

The logo must contain the phrase “EXTREME VR”. The logo may be bilingual.

Submission Instructions

• Logo(s) must be submitted in jpg format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. The electronic image must not be reduced.
• Submitted logo(s) must be between 4” x 6” and 8.5” x 11” in size and must be submitted in color.
• Improper formats will not be evaluated.
• An entry form must be emailed with each logo submission.

Additional Notes

• Students may submit multiple logo designs; however each logo must have a separate entry form.
• Receipt of all completed entries will be acknowledged within 48 hours.
• By submitting the logo, students agree that the logo may be modified in any fashion to fit the overall needs for and uses of the logo.
• The winning logo becomes the property of MIRARCO, and may only be used for official EXTREME VR purposes.

Judging Criteria

Logos will be judged based on :

1. creativity;
2. style;
3. message (ability to convey the essence of the project for ages 12-17);
4. and functionality (suitable for the web, merchandise, marketing materials, etc.).

Determination of winners:

One winning logo will be chosen by a committee from among members of the EXTREME VR Steering Committee and project partners. The winner will be notified and contacted by December 17th , 2007. An announcement and award presentation will be made at the EXTREME VR final presentations in Spring 2008.

Awards

• First Place: Digital Camera (value $150), recognition at the EXTREME VR Finals and Regional Mining Week, and on the EXTREME VR Webpage.
• Honourable mentions will be given for the top five logos.

Deadline

December 10th, 2007

Late submissions will not be considered.
