Congratulations to Jonathan T. (Smooth Rock Falls Secondary School) and Alexandre H. (École secondaire catholique Ste-Marie), our EXTREME VR Finalists!
Jonathan and Alexandre will present their projects in front of a panel of judges and invited guests from 12-2 pm at the Timmins VR Studio, Timmins Public Library, 320 Second Avenue.

Good afternoon. You are being contacted today because you expressed interest in participating in the Extreme VR Science Fair.
INTRODUCTION
My name is Joe Dixon, I’m a Software/Services Network IT for Aurora Microsystems in Sudbury. I’m emailing you a friendly reminder that I’m available for any English students that require help with their project in any area that I can be of assistance.
ONLINE WIKI UPDATE
I have been hard at work updating and formatting the main Extreme VR Science Fair wiki pages. There is a lot of information and resources available on there, be sure to check it all out. It’s very much a work in progress and because we want to make it informative yet easy to use to use for everyone, we welcome and encourage each of you to contact us with your feedback and/or suggestions. Things like anything you would like to see on there, or anything that’s confusing or hard to use, etc etc!!

This Science Fair is a great way to enjoy some real life experiences in your area of interest while making it fun and interesting. Now how often can you say that about something educational J.

BACK FROM NEW LISKEARD AND SMOOTH ROCK FALLS!
The EXTREME Team visited école secondaire catholique Ste-Marie in New Liskeard and Smooth Rock Falls SS on March 9th.
All students who responded to the one-on-one offer received training, mentorship and a demonstration of how 3D software can be used to explore and communicate.
Don't miss the next round of one-on-one mentorship and training THURSDAY MARCH 29 - SATURDAY MARCH 31st during the Regional Science Fair, available to ANYONE interested in participating.

NEW TO THE EXTREME TEAM: IT SUPPORT!
We are proud to introduce two new team members:
Joe Dixon, English IT Support. Joe is from Aurora Microsystems in Sudbury and will provide IT support to all english students for your personal wiki, your software, downloading, importing, and other techie stuff.
Marc Lemaire, French IT Support. Marc is from the Timmins Public Library and will provide bilingual support to french students requiring help with your personal wiki, anything techie, and also for ENGLISH students requiring Blender software support.
EXTREME VR UPDATE - FEB 21 / 07
PERSONAL TRAINING AND PRESENTATION FRI MARCH 2
This is a great chance to get some one-on-one help.
PLEASE EMAIL ME BEFORE MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED (YOU CAN DO ANY ONE OR BOTH):
1. Personal Training Session
- a. You will get technical tutoring on the software that you need for your project
- b. You will get personal mentoring in the research thinking part, helping you to refine your project, your ideas, what to do, next steps.
2. Presentations
- a. You will give an overview of your idea to a panel of friendly judges during National Engineering Week in Timmins and receive tips on improving your project.
- b. This is scheduled to take place on Friday March 2, 2007 (NEXT FRIDAY)
- c. This can be a simple presentation and you do not need to have any modeling done by that time, just you and whatever ideas you have so far.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Please email me BEFORE MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26 to confirm that you want to receive the personal training and whether you want to make a presentation on your topic.
I must hear from you in order to make the travel arrangements and to book a time for the presentations and for the training.
YOUR EXTREME IDEAS
Many of you have come up with some very interesting ideas. Just to give you a glimpse, here is what some of you are thinking about:
global warming, GIS, architecture, chemistry, water flow, ...do you have more ideas? Let us know.

Dites-le nous parce qu'IL N'EST PAS TROP TARD POUR S'INSCRIRE AU CONCOURS.
N'oubliez pas que vous devez vous inscrire d'ici le 19 février pour être admissible au tirage d'une clé USB (d'au moins 128 Mb) et être en mesure de présenter votre sujet toutes dépenses payées à la Semaine nationale de génie, à Timmins.
